Spring Newsletter and Update

“With a universal raging wonder and a gently wincing heart”

BBB

Dear Fellow Yogis and Yoginis,

I hope you have been enjoying this beautiful spring in the Pacific Northwest.  As the days grow longer, our thoughts turn to summer and summer adventures.

Are you ready for summer?  Is your body ready for summer.  Whether you are a mountain climber or mountain biker, hiker or stroller, rafter or sailor, triathlete, gardener, airplane traveler or all of the above – your body does need your attention so that you can play to your heart’s content. Be sure to keep yourself healthy and strong now and throughout summer by taking in a yoga class, or two or ten.  I am at Village Green Yoga, Sunday through Thursday mornings 9:30 – 11:00 and Thursday evenings at 5:30pm.

I am also at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah Highlands noon to 1:00, Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Private classes can also help you to develop a personalized home or traveling practice that will meet your activity needs specifically.  Privates are an excellent way to prevent and heal from injury.  Privates here at Kharma Bella Yoga Studio incorporate the use of the yoga wall, so you can work through strength, balance, flexibility issues as well as take advantage of the opportunity to lengthen your spine through fully supported inversions. Privates are immensely flexible (pun intended). We schedule them at your convenience, and even in your own home.  Give me a call or drop me an email to sign up for the new summer specials on private lessons.

Meditation Circle

Monday & Thursday Mornings: 8:45- 9:15am
Village Green Yoga

Have you had a chance to check out the new meditation circle. It is fantastic.  How nice to be able to meditate with others.  It is drop-in and donation-based so you can come when you want to and pay as you want.  All proceeds will be donated to local charities.
If you have ever said or thought:

  • I would like to try meditation, but don’t know where or how to start
  • Meditation is too hard
  • I don’t get it
  • I will never be able to sit still that long
  • I can never find the time
  • I wish I could try meditation, but in little bits
  • I wish I had folks to talk to about meditation.
  • I love meditation and would love to meditate with others

Then join us, the circle is open to anyone who is interested.  So whether or not you have a thriving or beginning meditation practice, please come on Monday and/or Thursday mornings.  Each circle begins with Pranayama (breath work) and then moves into a guided meditation.

Yoga, Meditation and Sacred Explorations
Speaking of meditation, I have exciting news.  Ajayan Borys of Effortless Mind Meditation has asked me to be the yoga teacher for his Meditation Journey to India in October.  I have long dreamed of studying meditation and yoga in India, but was waiting for the right time and the right trip.

Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Travel to India, study meditation with a master meditation teacher (Ajayan Borys), journey to some of the most sacred and historic regions of India, and be guided in your yoga practice by yours truly (me) teaching in conjunction with local yoga teachers.

What an amazing and exciting opportunity to combine travel and yoga.  On this 2 week adventure you will deepen your meditation practice and visit the birth place of yoga.  You will learn about the history of this sacred practice and gain a deeper understanding of the meditative and spiritual underpinnings of yoga.

I hope you will consider joining me on this amazing and life changing adventure. Click  to learn more and/or sign up to join us in October.

“The goal isn’t to make spirituality relevant, but to make our lives relevant.

Spirituality is a tool”

Rabbi Rami Shapiro

Looking forward to seeing you soon, either in class, or out and about, as we live our yoga beyond the mat.

Shalom & Namaste
